SERTÃO: Choro! with Regional Samaúma

  • A4 Collective 636 Dean Street Brooklyn, NY, 11238 United States (map)

For its second event in New York City, SERTÃO - a collective based in NYC and Long Island - is excited to present Regional Samaúma. Founded by Fernanda Silveira (Cavaquinho), Fabio Oliveira (Percussion) and Vitor Sampaio (Guitar), Regional Samaúma is a Choro and samba ensemble active in New York. Inspired by groups such as "Regional do Benedito Lacerda," "Regional do Canhoto," and "Época de Ouro," the Regional Samaúma supports other experienced musicians who dedicate themselves to Brazilian music. Since February 2023 the Regional Sumaúma acts as a permanent resident artist group and coordinator of the weekly Roda de Choro that takes place on Sundays at Barbès in Brooklyn, NY.
